Just to let you know that the current weather here is sunny and low 70's, so if you are getting really tired of the cold, we're just a plane ride away and you are welcome any time!

| This is typically how Guatemalan's carry large heavy things around, the men and women. If they have smaller items, the women will carry them on their heads. These are not just young people who do this, you will see a lot of older ones too. Can anyone say Chiropractor? |

| On Monday's we ride the chicken bus up to Sololá, on the way up Morgan shared a couple of Caleb videos with this cute little girl. Her name is Analit. Her dad was standing up next to her, so Morgan gave him the JW tract in Spanish to show him where she could watch more videos. |

| This goes on everyday in the riverbed. They work hard, starting really early in the morning til late in the day. They separate big rocks, sift them for sand and who knows what else. We are not sure what they are doing it for but we guess it is for the building materials they use. |

| This was taken from Sololá a couple of weeks ago. The middle faint hill with the smoke coming out is an active volcano named Fuego. It is near the capitol of Guatemala City. A couple of weeks ago it spewed ash that left a dusting on a few towns nearby it. The airport was shut down for a couple of days. |

| Ok so Austin and I were working with a group in Sololá on Monday and we took a dirt path and ended up in the boondocks! We came across a nice road/driveway and thought this surely leads to someone who speaks English, so we followed it and followed it, up and up and up and finally came to a nice house. The dog came out and greeted us, at first we thought that he wasn't going to be friendly the way he was carrying on but he was. Then a man came out and Austin asked in Spanish, "Estamos buscando personas que hablan Ingles, hay alguien agui que habla Ingles?" which means, in case you don't know, "We are looking for people who speak English, is there anyone here that speaks English?", to which he replied....."No." Aaaah bummer! That long uphill trek for no English speakers! But we did have a beautiful view and the walk felt like we were in Bourbon out for a walk! The next three pics are from where we were. The dog's name is Cacao. Not sure if he is a full black Lab, just know he is fed really well! He followed us from then on, even back to where we met the rest of the group! Eventually we got him to head back home! |

| This is Andy Burns (on the left) and Beverly Shockley. They are two of our regular pioneers but not for long. On Monday they will be moving to Managua, Nicaragua to serve Jehovah there. They both have been pioneering for 26 years. Because of health reasons Beverly needs to leave the high altitude and serve somewhere else that won't affect her health so badly! We are going to miss these two GREATLY! Our loss is their gain! So this and the last several pics are from their going away party we had for them. The invitation said to wear Guatemalan attire if able, so we did! |
